To keep you all race fit (ish!) and having a bit of fun along the way we have decided to run a virtual challenge, open to all club members, until the end of August.
Monthly challenges for May, June, July and August
Separate challenges each month – we will have a monthly winner & an overall winner
Distances: 1K, 3K, 5K, 10K and 20K (any terrain)
The longer distances 10K & 20K are restricted because of age with the shorter distances aimed at the younger athlete but not exclusively.
How it will work:
– Performances to be emailed to Dave Peters (jillanddave70@gmail.com) by midnight of the last day of the month.
– Performances measured on a GPS watch/app to record time and distance (exact distance e.g. 5.12k) if possible
– If you do not have a GPS watch or smart phone to record the distances then you could always run either the Chocoholics course (5k), or BBQ course (5k) or our 10k course or even the parkrun (5k) course.
– If for any reason the athlete has run slightly further (e.g. 5.12km for a 5k) then the submitted time will then be adjusted by a calculation by Dave
– Athletes will be given an age-graded percentage, as per parkrun, and the winner will be the athlete with the highest percentage. This enables athletes of all ages to compete with a chance of winning.

RULES: (As per Welsh Assembly restrictions as of 13/5/20)
* Runs must be solo runs unless accompanied by a household member.
* Athletes under 14 must be accompanied by a family member (who may be on a bike)
* All runs must start and finish at the same point (so that it’s not all downhill!)
* Stay local. You shouldn’t drive to exercise
* Runs must be continuous (no running 1k – stopping the watch – then running another 1k and so on)
* You can enter as many times as you wish for a challenge & as many distances as you want
